Independent Marketers Begins Selling Of Petrol At ₦‎172 Per Litre

The new development is expected to end the beleaguering long queues in filling stations across the country.

The Independent Petroleum Marketers at the tank farm in the Ijegun Egba Satelite area of Lagos have started selling petrol at N172 per litre.

This was part of the Federal Government’s directive at tackling the nation’s petrol shortage with independent marketers now expected to deliver the product at the government-regulated price to motorists and other users.

The Ijegun Egba tank farm directly contributes to 33 to 35% of the national consumption volume making it critical to the distribution channel of petrol.

Speaking to the press in Lagos on Thursday, the Chairman, Ijegun Egba Tank Farm Operators, Debo Olujimi, said they have now been supplied petrol which will be sold at the government’s regulated price.

“As of date, NNPC for the month of February has given Ijegun over 150 million litres. So you can see the vessels are discharging at the jetty and we are telling Nigerians and we are confirming it to everybody that this product is coming out from there and at the government-regulated price,” Olujimi said.

On those who refuse to sell at the government-regulated price going forward, IPMAN’s National Operations Controller, Mike Osatuyi, said, “Right now we have seen the light at the end of the tunnel that things are getting better now; we have sufficient fuel in the system. We go out, we monitor and when we find out that either you are under dispensing or selling out of range we shut you down.”

The new development is expected to end the beleaguering long queues in filling stations across the country.

Oshoala Scores And Ohale Scores An Own Goal As Barcelona Beat Alaves 4-0

Alavés 0-4 Barça: And they do it again

With 19 wins in 19 games, there seems to be no end to the women's team's rampant form

Barça have kept their 100 per cent record alive in the Liga F. On Saturday they were simply too good Alavés, although especially early on, the Basques put up a sterner fight than the final scoreline might suggest.

After coming out wearing shirts in support of the earthquake victims on Turkey and Syria and respecting a minute's silence, the game began with Barça utterly dominating but unable to turn any of their many chances into goals.

It was Oshoala who finally got things moving after 32 minutes with her 18th goal of the season, capping a delightful move also featuring Claudia Pina and Fridolina Rolfö.

The highly active Swede was also involved in the second goal, which goes down in the books as an own goal by Ohale. There could have been more before the break, with Oshoala having two great chances, one of which hit the post.

The home side were again saved by the woodwork in the second half, not once but twice. While Sandra Paños' gloves were barely warmed, Jana was doing wonders on the home side's goal to keep the score down, and the hour mark had passed before Aitana Bonmatí finally netted goal number three. The great piece of opportunism meant the three points were as good as settled.

Claudia Pina finished off the job by converting a magnificent pass from Lucy Bronze, and Barça go into the international break knowing that everything is going to perfect plan in the domestic championship. 19 out of 19. Incredible.

Jamaica To Order Vehicles From Nigerian Manufacturer, INNOSON

Jamaica Plans To Source Vehicles From Nigeria – High Commissioner

“It is a tremendous opportunity to witness vehicle manufacturing taking place here in Nigeria, which is one of our brothers in the south.”
- Jamaican ambassador to Nigeria

The Jamaican High Commissioner to Nigeria, Esmond Reid, says his country was planning to source for vehicles from Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing (IVM) in Nigeria.

Mr Reid, in the company of Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, made this known during a facility tour of IVM plant in Nnewi, Anambra State on Saturday.

He said: “For us, it is a tremendous opportunity to witness vehicle manufacturing taking place here in Nigeria, which is one of our brothers in the south.''

“It is also a chance to be able to discuss commercial opportunities for sourcing vehicles from Nigeria.''

“This is my first visit. I will go and consult with my stakeholders back home in Jamaica to look at the timeline and determine the negotiations and engagements and when we will start the business of sourcing the vehicles”.

The high commissioner described IVM plant as “top class”, promising to encourage Jamaican citizens to come and see for themselves.

“I congratulate the management of this company and I’m very grateful to the minister for making this visit possible for me. This can become the start of something great,” he said.

Commenting, Mr Onyeama called for strict enforcement of the Presidential Executive Order mandating government officials to buy and use Nigeria.

“I’m very proud. This plant is world class compared to some of the vehicles manufacturing companies I have seen in some other countries. Innoson is doing well.''

“Left to me, every government official should be obliged to buy and use a Nigerian manufactured car. There is a Presidential Executive Order that requires government officials to buy Nigeria.

“That order has to be imposed and made mandatory. In France, it is impossible to see a French Government official driving a non-French car, same in Japan, Korea, UK and US.''

“We have to do the same here. This will encourage and support our citizens and demystify technology,” he said.

The minister said he facilitated the visit to IVM when the Jamaican High Commissioner requested to see the impressive things going on in Nigeria.

“We consider these Caribbean countries as our brothers and sisters and we want to increase the level of trade and collaboration among ourselves,” he said.

In his remarks, the Chairman of IVM, Innocent Chukwuma, appreciated the Federal Government for supporting manufacturing companies in the country.

Mr Chukwuma urged Nigerians to always patronise his products, assuring them of quality and durable vehicles.

The South-East President, Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture, Honfery Nkeonadi, lauded IVM for making Africans proud with innovative products.
