Edward David Onoja, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State has withdrawn from the Kogi All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary slated for tomorrow. The ruling Party had announced the Direct Primary will be the mode of Primary to produce the Candidate who will fly the Party's flag in the November 11 Governorship Election. Following a Stakeholders meeting,  the outgoing Governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello revealed his preferred successor to be a former Local Government Auditor General, Ahmed Usman Ododo. Ododo hails from the same Kogi Central Senatorial Zone as the outgoing Governor. Alongside Onoja, others who have withdrawn from the race are: Mohammed Abdulkareem Asuku (the Governor's Chief of Staff), David Adebanji Jimoh; a former Commissioner for Finance, Asiwaju Ashiru Idris; Okala Yakubu, and Momoh Jubril. Nigerians, especially motorists or vehicle owners, heaved a sigh of relief when the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) announced reduction in fuel price from N1,060 to N965 across all its retail stations nationwide. Also, the Dangote Group through its Refinery reduced its price per litre to N899 reaching out to Nigerians through the MRS filling stations[/b]. But what literally should be a source of joy has become an avenue for fuel stations to cheat, shortchange, and fleece motorists and Nigerians of their hard-earned money by dispensing less quality fuel which blows out easily in a very short time.   A fresh proposal by the House of Representatives Constitution Review Committee to create 31 additional states in Nigeria has triggered strong reactions from prominent individuals and socio-political groups across the country. The proposal, which would increase Nigeria’s current 36 states to 67, was contained in a letter read during Thursday’s plenary session by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, who presided in the absence of Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.
