65-Year-Old Remanded For Allegedly Defiling Minor In Anambra

  The Children, Sexual and Gender-based Violence Offences Court in Awka, has remanded a 65-year-old man, Joseph Nwankwo, who allegedly defiled an eight-year-old girl. The defendant is facing a one-count charge of defilement. According to the Police Prosecutor, Insp. Chinyere Okechukwu, the accused, committed the offence on Dec. 28, 2024 at Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra. “The complainant who is the mother of the eight-year-old girl said her daughter complained of waist pain. She checked and discovered that her daughter’s vaginal was swollen. “After medical examination and enquiry at the General Hospital Ekwulobia, a medical practitioner confirm that the girl had been defiled. “The eight-year-old however, opened up and said that the defendant have been having sex with her,” she said. Kaduna Refinery At 60% Mechanical Completion, says NNPCL

  Going words of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), the Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemicals Company (KDPRC) has attained more than 60 per cent mechanical completion. NNPCL Executive Vice President (Downstream) Isiyaku Abdullahi dropped the hint yesterday in Abuja during the NNPCL Workshop/Engagement session with Kannywood artistes. He said the company has been working assiduously to deliver the refinery this year, adding that the state-run oil firm was simultaneously working on the pipelines with its in-house capacity. Alex Otti: Abia PDP suspends Board of Trustees Chairman, Adolphus Wabara

  Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, over alleged anti-party activities. Confirming the suspension in an interview with Enyimba FM, the state PDP chairman, Abraham Amah, stated that the decision was taken by the State Executive Committee (SEC) due to Wabara’s breach of party loyalty. According to Amah, Wabara publicly endorsed Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti of the Labour Party, for a second term in office in October 2023—barely five months after Otti’s inauguration. He described the endorsement as an act of sabotage against the PDP, bringing the party into disrepute.
