Judiciary May Treat Tinubu Better Than INEC Did. Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri as described President elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as a political scholar which PDP need to study and learn from.

Reno share this on his officer Twitter Page,

He wrote:

Tinubu has been preparing for 2023 since 1998. He has a former Lagos Commissioner as a top shot at INEC. He has judges he appointed as Governor that are now in the Court of Appeals. He made Lawan Senate President and installed Gbajabiamila as Speaker. One-quarter of Buhari's ministers are his appointees. He helped the owners of Oando and Alphabets become dollar billionaires. He has turned many journalists from paupers to multimillionaires. He is on excellent terms with army generals and has incorporated family members of leaders of our intelligence agencies into his patronage network.

With his advanced preparation, the judiciary may even treat him better than INEC did.

Tinubu and Godswill Akpabio both learnt from MKO Abiola very well. What money cannot do, more money can do. But Tinubu went further than Akpabio in that, apart from Olusegun Obasanjo, no other Nigerian politician has perfected the art of emotional suppression and stooping conquer like him.

Instead of insulting his intelligence, let us, as PDP, study it and outfox him. We should not be too ashamed to copy his playbook. That is how you become a Chess Grandmaster. You spend months studying your opponents' plays. We must study Tinubu to defeat him like Erdogan studied Fethullah Gülen and then destroyed his political base.

INEC Re-Affirms Victor Oye As APGA National Chairman

The Commission views the circulation promoting Edozie Njoku as National Chairman as cheap blackmail aimed at hoodwinking those not abreast of the details of the case.

PRESS RELEASE

THE COMMISSION’S POSITION ON THE NATIONAL LEADERSHIP OF APGA

The attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been drawn to posters and statements being circulated by an amorphous group accusing the Commission of refusal to obey the judgement of the Supreme Court purportedly recognizing one Chief Edozie Njoku “as the authentic National Chairman of APGA”.

The Commission views the circulation of the posters and statements as cheap blackmail aimed at hoodwinking those not abreast of the details of the case. We wish to state that the issues in question are about facts, the law and due process not amenable to hysteria and appeal to sentiments.

It is noteworthy that the suit in question started from the Jigawa State High Court, initiated by one Alhaji Rabiu Garba Aliyu against Chief Jude Okeke and three others. Chief Edozie Njoku was not a party to the suit. One of the reliefs sought is a “Declaration that the national officers of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, including the Plaintiff, who were elected at its national convention held in Owerri, Imo State on 31st May 2019 shall remain in office and discharge their respective duties for a term of four years commencing from 31st May 2021.

On 30th June 2021, the Jigawa State High Court in suit No: JDU/022/2021 entered judgement in favour of the said Alhaji Rabiu Garba Aliyu. On appeal, the Court of Appeal described the suit as an abuse of court process. “Consequently, the entire proceedings of the Jigawa State High Court in suit No. JDU/022/2021, delivered by Musa Ubale J on 30th June 2021 and the judgement delivered thereon are accordingly set aside”. The Supreme Court in its judgement of 14th October 2021 affirmed the decision of the Court of Appeal.

However, on 27th January 2023, Chief Edozie Njoku, who was never a party to any of the suits and the processes filed in the various courts approached the Supreme Court of Nigeria as an interested person/applicant and filed a Motion on Notice seeking for an order of the Court to correct “typographical errors and accidental slip” in the lead judgement of the Supreme Court. This was granted and the correction did not in any way affect the substance of the suit and the orders made by the Supreme Court.

The Commission is a law-abiding institution and will continue to give effect to the decisions, judgements and orders of the various courts in Nigeria.

The Courts are not helpless when they make orders, deliver judgements and make pronouncements. They also have the capacity to punish for disobedience of their orders and judgements in committal proceedings. This is the process open to law abiding citizens, groups and organizations rather than resorting to cheap blackmail and using amorphous groups to malign the Commission and its officials.

Adeleke Vs Oyetola: Supreme Court Delivers Judgement Today

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke and his predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola will know their fate in the controversy trailing the outcome of the July 16, 2022 governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the poll, saying he polled 403,371 votes to sack Oyetola who was the then incumbent with 375,027.

Oyetola and his party – the All Progressives Congress (APC) had alleged irregularities in the polls and challenged Adeleke’s victory in the Election Petitions Tribunal.

Respite came for the former governor on January 27, 2023, as Justice Tertse Kume who gave the majority judgement upturned Adeleke’s victory and declared Oyetola the winner of the poll.

Justice Kume held that Oyetola scored the majority lawful votes of 314,931 against Adeleke’s 290,266.

Not satisfied with the judgement Displeased, Adeleke and the PDP headed to the Court of Appeal, which on March 24 nullified the tribunal judgment and returned Adeleke as the winner.

Aggrieved with the Appeal Court verdict, Oyetola and the PDP headed for the Supreme Court, which held the matter on Monday and fixed judgment for today (Tuesday).

Channels Television which monitored the sitting of the apex court panel on Monday reports that the parties adopted their briefs and addressed the court after which the panel announced Tuesday for judgment.

However, both the ruling PDP and the opposition APC are hopeful that the highest court in the land will rule in their favour to strengthen their grip on the South-Western state.
