Not Getting Government Seat Shouldn't Stop One From Community Service - Banky W

Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has said service to community should not be dependent on being in government, IGBERETV reports.

The singer, who was the PDP candidate for the House of Representatives election in Eti-Osa federal constituency of Lagos State, lost to the Labour Party candidate.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Banky stated that not getting a seat in government shouldn't stop one from serving the community.

He wrote;

"If our service to community was only dependent on whether we got a seat in the government, then we don't deserve a seat in the first place."

"Good Friday was a great Friday. @thebworg x @mywaterbrook partnered together and we pulled off an amazing, free clothing and medical drive.

Over 2,500 items given away, and hundreds of people given free access to medical services. Thank you to everyone who donated their time, talent, treasure and resources to make this a success. Thank you to the most amazing volunteers on earth. Thank you to the companies that teamed up with us, including Medpau, Medbury, Kazodo Health, Mai Atafo, Trax Apparel, Ugo Monye, Clean Ace Dry Cleaning, and so many more.

Most importantly, thank you Lord. The service continues.

This was love in action. And the only reason I'm posting this is to hopefully inspire you to be a part of our next community service activities... or to do your own.

"These 3 things remain... faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love".

"By this shall men know that you are my disciples... how you love one another".

Peter Obi: We do not Comment On Individual cases - UK Govt Replies Premiumtimes

The government of the United Kingdom has responded to PREMIUM TIME’s letter requesting the details of the arrest and detention of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, by its immigration officials at Heathrow Airport in London last week.

It, however, declined providing sufficient details about Mr Obi’s ordeal as requested by this newspaper in its reply through the Home Office.

In a short reply on Thursday the UK government said they do not comment on individual’s cases.

“We do not comment on individual cases,” Chloe Newman, senior communications officer – Newsdesk Communications Directorate, stated in the reply on Thursday.

Bothered about several unsubstantiated claims on social media over the issue, this newspaper wrote to the UK Home Office on 13 April, seeking to understand the circumstances surrounding Mr Obi’s ordeals in the European country during Easter for accurate reporting.
