Councillors Threaten To Sue Datti Baba-Ahmed Over ‘Treasonable Comment

Some serving councillors elected under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress yesterday threatened legal action against Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, the running mate of the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The local council lawmakers also issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the LP vice presidential candidate to withdraw the statement made on national television that the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, and his vice should not be sworn-in on May 29.

Daily Trust Saturday reports that Baba-Ahmed had in a recent interview on a national television asked the Chief Justice of Nigeria not to swear in the President-elect on May 29 while some of their supporters had called for the interim national government.

Ali said, “We will like to use this medium to strongly condemn a provocative statement made by the Labour Party vice presidential candidate, Sen. Datti Baba-Ahmed on Channels TV last week, attacking the integrity of the 25th February 2023 presidential election.

“Therefore, we call him to quickly withdraw his comments within 48 hours and apologise to the good people of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu, President Buhari, the judiciary under the leadership of Chief Judge of Nigeria, else, legal action will be taken against him
,” he said.

"I Lost My Virginity Through Rape" – Foluke Daramola

Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola has disclosed that she lost her virginity through rape.

Speaking in a chat with TVC’s ‘Your View’, the filmmaker made reference to some red flags she encountered yet ignored in her first marriage.

While she did not reveal who raped her, the actress said as a result of the experience, she started seeing sex as a punishment.

“I was raped, I lost my virginity through rape, so sex to me was punishment and the person I got married to wanted it every time,” she said.

“So, it was as if he was beating me, so the moment I am going home, I am afraid, I am scared.”

On the red flags she saw and ignored during her first marriage, Daramola said she had to stay put in the marriage for fear of ‘what people will say’.

“When I wanted to enter my first marriage, the signs were there, even though my partner was rushing me into the marriage,” she continued.

“I was concerned that my friends were getting married, all the signs were there, anger issues, suspicion about who I’m talking with, but I overlooked it.

“My first experience was my wedding night, I got a broken SIM: that you have to change your SIM. I saw the signs of abuse, signs of anger, he does not want me to do anything. And had to manage because I kept believing he will change.”

Daramola began her acting career in 1998 and has since featured in several Nigerian movies.

Apostle Tomi Arayomi And His Wife Tahmar Arrested By DSS, Released

DSS Arrests UK-Based Nigerian Pastor At Lagos Airport

The founder of the RIG Nation and Pioneer Church, UK, Apostle Tomi Arayomi was arrested and detained in Nigeria by security agents on Friday.

This was disclosed by his twin brother, Tobi Arayomi, via his Instagram page, @tobiarayomi, around 12 pm.

According to Tobi, his brother was apprehended by operatives of the Department of State Services for alleged politics-related prophecies he made.

Hello everybody, I need your help. I just received news that my brother has been detained by the Department of State Services, DSS in Nigeria. He has been arrested for political reasons, my brother and his wife, Tema.

He just arrived in Lagos and they detained him at the airport. He is politically targeted because some of his prophetic words have troubled the government in Nigeria,” Tobi said.

The cleric in question had been making predictions about the 2023 Nigerian elections and the outcomes.

Ahead of the elections, he urged Nigerians to vote for an “outsider”, noting that the 2023 electoral process will first produce Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as president-elect.

THE WHISTLER reached out to the DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunnaya, to confirm or deny the arrest.

“Why don’t you call the Pastor, pls.” Afunnaya responded.

When THE WHISTLER noted that Tomi’s brother alleged that the pastor was picked up by DSS operatives, Afunnaya insisted our correspondent reached the pastor directly instead “and not conclude with what a third party said or told you.”

About 40 minutes later, Tobi posted a photo of his brother and his wife on Instagram, stating they have been released.

@tomiarayomi and @tahmar.india are out. Thank you all for your prayers,”
 Tobi stated.

Information gathered from his official Facebook page showed that Pastor Tomi was billed to be at his church branch in Abuja on April 7 for a programme.

Gbajabiamila Meets All Speakership Aspirants

Mr Gbajabiamila said he has known and worked with all nine aspirants for many years.

Mr Gbajabiamila, in a tweet on his timeline on Friday, said they are all men he has worked with for many years.

Yesterday I met with aspirants for the office of the Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives in the coming 10th Assembly. All 9 aspirants I have known and worked with for many years and I have no doubt will do well in continuing and building on the legacy of the 9th Assembly,” he said.

Some of the men at the meeting include Deputy Speaker Idris Wase (APC, Plateau), Yusuf Gagdi (APC, Plateau), Muktar Betara (APC, Borno), Ben Kalu (APC, Abia), Sada Soli (APC, Katsina), Tunji Olawuyi (APC, Kwara) and Abubakar Makki (APC, Jigawa).

Others include Tajudeen Abbas (APC, Kaduna) and Aminu Jaji (APC, Zamfara).

PREMIUM TIMES reported how the aspirants have commenced the campaign while waiting for the decision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on where the position will be zoned to..

The ruling party had in March met to discuss the zoning of the office, however, no decision was made on zoning.

Mr Gbajabiamila, while speaking to journalists after the March meeting held at the State House, said the decision will be taken after the governorship elections. The governorship elections were held on 18 March.

It is perhaps possible that the ruling party will wait for the outcome of the 15 April supplementary elections for taking a decision on zoning.

The results of only 325 seats were declared after the 25 February National Assembly elections. There are 360 seats in the lower chamber.

The chamber has had nine speakers since the return of democracy in 1999. Whoever emerges in June when the 10th National Assembly will be inaugurated will be the 10th speaker.

Russia Death Merchant Viktor Bout Tells Trump To Flee To Russia For Safety

Bout, also known as the "Merchant of Death," was swapped for U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner in a high-profile prisoner exchange between Moscow and Washington in December.

"I believe your life is in peril," Bout wrote in a telegram sent to Trump and shown to the press in Moscow.

"The Biden administration will not stop just by dragging you through the court/prison industrial complex," he said, referring to Trump's successor Joe Biden.

"They would sooner end your life than let you stand in their way."

Bout told Trump, whom he has long admired, that he would find a "safe haven (in Russia) and from here you can lead the fight for the American people."

Bout was serving a 25-year sentence in a U.S. prison when he was swapped for Griner. He has since joined a Russian nationalist party.

Accused of arming rebels in some of the world's bloodiest conflicts, Bout was arrested in Thailand in a U.S. sting operation in 2008, extradited to the United States and sentenced in 2012.

Washington and Moscow have in recent years held several prisoner exchanges.

There are still several Americans held in Russia.

Last week, Russia arrested U.S. journalist Evan Gershkovich and charged him with espionage, provoking an international outcry.

Washington has called the charges against him "ridiculous."

"Bola Tinubu Is A Drog Lord; If He Is On Fire, I Will Not Urinate On Him"

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has called Nigeria's President-Elect, Bola Tinubu a “drog Lord”, IGBERETV reports.

Reno said he intentionally misspelled the words for personal reasons.

He shared a photo of Tinubu and wrote on his Instagram page;

"culture where money, rather than respect, is the cornerstone is a low culture, that may prosper materially, but will never prosper spiritually or politically. A culture where a child can open his mouth and call his own father "a nobody"? Tufiakwa! Nyama!

What is money? Something that we will all leave on Earth. That is how you rate a life? Do you know why a Bini man will fight you physically if you dare insult the Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo? Because they view him not as a king, but as their father. That is why for over a thousand years, their culture has stood. Firm!

Until a culture has been recalibrated to stop revolving around money, and to gravitate towards respect, it will always be under the control of higher cultures that are built on respect. Just look at pre-colonial and post colonial Nigeria. Not much has changed in terms of power structure!

Because you worship money, you also feel that everybody is motivated by money. Like you. Listen to me carefully: Bola Tinubu is a known drog lord (deliberate spelling to avoid you know what). If he is on fire, I will not urinate on him. No amount of money and or post will make me support him. I will protest and support the Peoples Democratic Party petition against his victory with my money and my energy. But as far as I am concerned, if the Supreme Court does not overturn his victory, which I pray they do, I will recognise and accept him as my President on May 29, 2023, and torment him if he toes the path of Buhari.

It is you and your likes that do everything because of money. For 500 years, my lineage has never been poor. And I am not about to be the weak link that will bring poverty into my pedigree. My actions are the result of my principles."
