Russia Death Merchant Viktor Bout Tells Trump To Flee To Russia For Safety

Bout, also known as the "Merchant of Death," was swapped for U.S. basketball star Brittney Griner in a high-profile prisoner exchange between Moscow and Washington in December.

"I believe your life is in peril," Bout wrote in a telegram sent to Trump and shown to the press in Moscow.

"The Biden administration will not stop just by dragging you through the court/prison industrial complex," he said, referring to Trump's successor Joe Biden.

"They would sooner end your life than let you stand in their way."

Bout told Trump, whom he has long admired, that he would find a "safe haven (in Russia) and from here you can lead the fight for the American people."

Bout was serving a 25-year sentence in a U.S. prison when he was swapped for Griner. He has since joined a Russian nationalist party.

Accused of arming rebels in some of the world's bloodiest conflicts, Bout was arrested in Thailand in a U.S. sting operation in 2008, extradited to the United States and sentenced in 2012.

Washington and Moscow have in recent years held several prisoner exchanges.

There are still several Americans held in Russia.

Last week, Russia arrested U.S. journalist Evan Gershkovich and charged him with espionage, provoking an international outcry.

Washington has called the charges against him "ridiculous."

"Bola Tinubu Is A Drog Lord; If He Is On Fire, I Will Not Urinate On Him"

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has called Nigeria's President-Elect, Bola Tinubu a “drog Lord”, IGBERETV reports.

Reno said he intentionally misspelled the words for personal reasons.

He shared a photo of Tinubu and wrote on his Instagram page;

"culture where money, rather than respect, is the cornerstone is a low culture, that may prosper materially, but will never prosper spiritually or politically. A culture where a child can open his mouth and call his own father "a nobody"? Tufiakwa! Nyama!

What is money? Something that we will all leave on Earth. That is how you rate a life? Do you know why a Bini man will fight you physically if you dare insult the Omo N'Oba N'Edo Uku Akpolokpolo? Because they view him not as a king, but as their father. That is why for over a thousand years, their culture has stood. Firm!

Until a culture has been recalibrated to stop revolving around money, and to gravitate towards respect, it will always be under the control of higher cultures that are built on respect. Just look at pre-colonial and post colonial Nigeria. Not much has changed in terms of power structure!

Because you worship money, you also feel that everybody is motivated by money. Like you. Listen to me carefully: Bola Tinubu is a known drog lord (deliberate spelling to avoid you know what). If he is on fire, I will not urinate on him. No amount of money and or post will make me support him. I will protest and support the Peoples Democratic Party petition against his victory with my money and my energy. But as far as I am concerned, if the Supreme Court does not overturn his victory, which I pray they do, I will recognise and accept him as my President on May 29, 2023, and torment him if he toes the path of Buhari.

It is you and your likes that do everything because of money. For 500 years, my lineage has never been poor. And I am not about to be the weak link that will bring poverty into my pedigree. My actions are the result of my principles."

I’m Too Old To Keep Quiet, Ethnic Division Must End – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said the incoming administration must explore all avenues at ending ethnic division that emanated from the 2023 general elections.

Obasanjo stated this while speaking at a conference, themed, “From Elections to Governance and Performance,” organised by Nextier and the Ibadan School of Governance and Public Policy in Abuja on Thursday.

The former president noted that with challenges facing the country, he is now “too old to keep quiet,” stating that he would continue to voice concerns for the benefit of the nation.

He noted that the incoming government must work to facilitate national moral rearmament and reconciliation, following the divisiveness occasioned by the just concluded general elections.

According to Obasanjo, the move has the potential to bring about healing and to assuage Nigerian youths who were angered by the shortcomings of the elections.

He said governance in Nigeria now required thinking outside the box, to rescue the nation, in terms of its plunging economy and huge national debt burden, adding that there must also be the political will and action, as well as administrative efforts, to reform the public service, and turn it into a capability-ready unit.

MURIC To Obi: Confirm Or Deny ‘yes Daddy’ Leaked Audio For Fair Hearing

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has asked Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) and David Oyedepo, founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, to confirm or deny the authenticity of the viral leaked audio allegedly involving the duo.

In the audio clip, a voice similar to that of Obi can be heard asking Oyedepo to speak to the Christians in the south-west and Kwara to vote for him in the presidential poll, describing the election as a “religious war”.

So far, there have been conflicting statements regarding the authenticity of the tape from the LP.
The LP campaign council said the audio was a deep fake and accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of trying to demarket Obi.

The council said it was a plot to create a credibility problem for its candidate and had no other purpose than mischief. Valentine Obienyem, Obi’s media aide, also said the leaked audio of his principal’s conversation with Oyedepo was edited out of context. Kenneth Okonkwo, a spokesperson of the LP campaign, however, said the clip was authentic.

Okonkwo said “political criminals are trying to spin the conversation as if the LP candidate was making a religious comment” instead of seeing that “Obi was simply urging the Bishop to help him push this message of equal stake of all Nigerians in the Nigerian project to his people and the Christendom because the politicians of the other party are carrying on this campaign as if it is a religious war”.

While Obi is yet to address the controversy, Oyedepo said he has never and will not campaign for any political candidate. The cleric neither confirmed nor denied that the conversation took place.

“CONFIRM OR DENY IN THREE DAYS”

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Ishaq Akintola, MURIC executive director, asked the duo to speak up on the authenticity of the viral clip now dubbed “Yes Daddy”. Akintola said the call was made so as to give the duo a fair hearing before interrogating the content of the audio.

“The leaked audio tape of a conversation between the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi and the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has gone viral,” the statement reads.

“In the leaked telephone conversation which occurred on the eve of the February 25, 2023, presidential election, Peter Obi was heard saying, ‘Yes Daddy’ to every remark made by the bishop. The LP presidential candidate called the election a ‘religious war’ to which the bishop replied ‘I believe that’. Peter Obi also told the bishop, ‘Like I keep saying if this works, you people will never regret the support.’

“MURIC urges the duo of LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi and the founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, to confirm or deny the authenticity of the leaked audio tape within three days.

DHQ: Interim Government Unconstitutional — We Stand With The Presidency

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) says the calls for interim government are unconstitutional.

Musa Danmadami, director, defence media operations, spoke on Thursday in Abuja at the bi-weekly briefing on military operations across the country.

He said those calling for an interim government are trying to be mischievous, adding that the constitution does not provide for such a situation.

“On the issue of interim government, it is rather unfortunate. An election has been conducted and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that is mandated has announced a president-elect,” he said.

“It is not our responsibility to speak on that issue but I know that several calls have been made from the presidency that there is nothing like interim national government.

“So I think people were just trying to be mischievous. It is unconstitutional and all of us know that.

“The constitution does not provide for an interim national government and that is the point the presidency has been hammering on and that is our stand.

“It is unconstitutional so anything unconstitutional as far as I am concerned is not applicable.”

Danmadami said the military is ready to provide support in two states where elections were declared inconclusive.

He said the military is still working around the clock to make sure there is peace and security in the country.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed April 15 for the conduct of supplementary elections in Kebbi and Adamawa states.

LP Suspends Ex-chair Salako, Salvador, 4 Others In Lagos Over Anti-party

The Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State has indefinitely suspended six of its chieftains, including the immediate past chairman, Mr Kayode Salako, over alleged anti-party and disparaging activities in the just-concluded elections.

The LP Secretary in the state, Mr Sam Okpala disclosed this at a news conference on Thursday at the party’s secretariat in Ikeja, Lagos.

Okpala listed the suspended leaders to include: Mr Moshood Salvador (LP Senatorial Candidate, Lagos West), Mr Mutiu Okunola (House of Ikeja Rep. Candidate), and Messrs Theodore Ezeunara, Mr Olumide Adesoyin and Opeyemi Taiwo.

He said the suspension followed the party’s reception and ratification of the report of the Disciplinary Committee set up to investigate the acts of anti-party activities levelled against the leaders.

Explaining that the decision was taken at the State Working Committee meeting held on March 31, Okpala said the affected leaders had been found culpable of acts inimical to the progress of the LP.

He said: “Labour Party in Lagos state discovered a lot of anti-party activities committed by people who claimed to be members of the party in Lagos state.
Our post-mortem of what really transpired and happened during the general elections revealed that a lot of people who called themselves members of the party were indeed working for the opposition.

“With that information, the LP in Lagos state set up a disciplinary committee headed by one of the deputy chairmen of the party to look into these allegations.

“As an obedient party that adheres to the rule of law, the committee gave everyone involved a fair hearing and opportunity to defend themselves and clear their names.

“At the end of the exercise, the report was tendered before the LP state working committee and at the meeting held on March 31, the report of the disciplinary committee was accepted and ratified for implementation.”

He said that out of the seven chieftains, involved, one Mr Sunbo Onitiri, said he had resigned his membership of the LP.

“In obedience to the relevant sections of our constitution, the party took the decision to suspend them from being members of the party with immediate effect.

“The essence is to serve as deterrent to others who may want to toe that inglorious path again,” he added.

Okpala said the party could not accept having enemies within its fold.
