An Average Worker In Lagos Spends At Least 4 Hours In Traffic Every Day

An average worker in Lagos spends at least 4 hours in traffic every day. This amounts to 20 hours a week and about 1,000 hours in a year. That’s a lot of hours that could be invested. Thus, my question this morning is how much of this time are you investing?

Let me introduce to you a concept I called Return-on -Traffic-Time®. Most of us are familiar with financial ratios such as returns on sales, returns on capital employed etc. but how can you evaluate returns on time spent in traffic?

Return-on -Traffic-Time® = Number of hours spent on personal development / Total number of hours spent in Traffic

Like any productivity ratio, the best return will be achieved by maximizing the numerator while minimizing the denominator. Let’s focus on the numerator because it will cost some money to minimize the denominator.

Let’s say you read or listen to a book/podcast for 1 hour out of the 4-hour traffic time, your return is 25%. Doing this will also reduce the time spent in traffic to 3 hours at no cost to you. Now Imagine investing 2 or 3 hours daily!

Almost 50% of the time I spent studying for my MBA was in traffic. There was even an exam I wrote inside traffic. Moving closer to work is the perfect solution but if you can’t afford that for now, you may want to consider having a sound Return-on -Traffic-Time®.

If Tinubu Can Create A Seaport In Anambra; Igbo Will Worship Him - Cossy Ojiakor

Nollywood actress and singer, Cossy Ojiakor has never shown her political identity and in fact, many would not have thought the busty entertainer has any political blood flowing in her veins. All thanks to the Obedient movement championed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party as the diva has discovered another side of her personality.

Interestingly, she was a Labour Party agent in the just concluded presidential elections and she said she discharged her duty to the best of her abilities, voluntarily without any monetary inducement. Like many who supported Peter Obi, she was disappointed they lost but says she has a piece of advice for the President-elect.

" I personally supported Peter Obi to usher in the much-needed change in Nigeria. My biggest hope was hinged on Peter Obi establishing a seaport and an airport in Southeast. The only problem of Igbo is the seaport and airport. That was the hope we had with Obi. If Tinubu can actually create a seaport in Asaba or Anambra, he will be worshipped," she told Potpourri in a chat.

“When Igbo spare parts dealers said they want to relocate to the East, I wonder how they can survive without a seaport as the only seaport that works in Nigeria is in Lagos. I was even a polling unit agent during the last election, I don’t have to tell you what went down. But Tinubu is a father. If he can do this to develop Nigeria and decongest Lagos, Igbos will peacefully go home and sell their business there,” she added.

dropped the bombshell that people shouldn’t be surprised to see her join the political landscape in the next dispensation as she is seriously considering contesting an elective position.

PDP Suspends National Chairman, Ayu, With Immediate Effect

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu has been suspended by the party.

The suspension of Dr. Ayu was effected by the Ward Executive of the party in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue state.

Addressing the media Sunday, on behalf of Kashi Philip, the Ward Chairman, the Ward Secretary Mr. Vangeryina Dooyum explained that Dr. Ayu was suspended by the Executive for alleged anti party activities.

Reading from a text signed by 12 out of the 17 member Ward Executive, the Secretary stated that the decision to suspend the National Chairman was reached after the leadership reviewed his conduct at the end of the just concluded general elections.

Flanked by the Chairman and other members, the Secretary said, “we observed with utmost dismay that, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu who is the National Chairman of the PDP worked against the success of the party in Igyorov Council Ward.

It is on record that, he has also failed to pay his Annual Subscription Fees as provided under Section 8 (9) of the constitution of the PDP 2017 (As Amended).

“Further investigation also revealed that, he did not vote during the Governorship and State Assembly Elections held on March 18, 2023.

“It was also discovered that, most of his closest allies worked for the opposition party, the All Progressive Congress, APC, and hence, the abysmal performance of the PDP in Igyorov Ward.

“In view of the foregoing, we hereby pass a Vote of No Confidence on Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and suspend him as a member of our party with immediate effect. The suspension takes effect from March 24, 2023.”

Peter Obi Paid Condolence Visit To Mr Humphrey Anumudu

Peter Obi paid condolence visit to Mr Humphrey Anumudu

Today, I paid a condolence visit to the family of a dear friend, and political colleague, Mr Humphrey Anumudu, whom I was deeply saddened by the news of his sudden death. Mr Anumudu is one of the strongest supporters of the Labour Party in Imo state, and an aspirant in the forthcoming Imo State governorship election. He was a very warm, and forthright person. His death is a huge loss to his immediate and extended family, the Labour Party, the good people of Imo State, and to Nigeria.
May God Almighty, who called him home at this time grant him eternal rest in His kingdom, and grant his family the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss. My sincere condolence to his family, and may God Almighty bless his family always. -PO

5 Planets to Line Up In The Sky In Rare Space Showcase

LOOK UP: EARTH is set for a view of a lifetime later this month as five planets of the solar system align.

The rare cosmic sight is happening next week - so keep your eyes peeled.

Those lucky enough to see the display will spot Jupiter, Mercury, Uranus, Mars and Venus all line up in a small part of the sky shortly after sunset on March 28.

This visual phenomenon differs to an astronomical alignment, which is when planets gather simultaneously on the same side of the sun.

Last year, stargazers in the northern hemisphere were able to witness Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn all at once.

How to spot

Spotting five planets at the same time on March 28 may be difficult and will greatly depend on a person's location.

Those hoping to see the display will only be able to do so if they have a clear sky and a nearly flat western horizon.

It's key to make sure the sky is free of obstructions like trees or buildings.

Stargazers have been advised to use binoculars.

However, specialist equipment may be needed to spot Uranus.
