The Francophonie is also an institution, dedicated since 1970 to promoting the French language and political, educational, economic and cultural cooperation among the 88 member countries of the Organisation internationale of la Francophonie (OIF) [International Organisation of La Francophonie]. 

The Charter of the Francophonie defines the institution; its highest authority, the Summit of the Francophonie; and its cornerstone, the Secretary General of the Francophonie, a position currently held by Louise Mushikiwabo.

The OIF implements multilateral francophone cooperation projects alongside the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie [Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie] and four operating agencies: Agence universitaire de la Francophonie [Association of Francophone Universities], TV5MONDE, Association internationale des maires francophones [International Association of Francophone Mayors], and Université Senghor [Senghor University] in Alexandria.

The Francophonie’s mission mandates are: 

To promote the French language and cultural and linguistic diversity;
To promote peace, democracy and human rights;
To support education, training, higher education and research;
To foster economic cooperation to bolster sustainable development.

INEC Declares Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq Winner Of Kwara Governorship Election 2023


 The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State as the winner of the 2023 governorship election in the state.


The governor won the poll to serve a second term of another four years in office under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Abdulrazaq won in all the 16 local government areas of the state in the election results declared by the INEC Returning officer for the polls, Professor Isaac Itodo, the Vice Chancellor, University of Markurdi, Benue state.

The INEC had on Saturday night started announcement of the 2023 governorship election results with only that of three local government areas with the governor clearing the three local government areas of Ekiti, Isin and Offa local government areas.

At the resumed announcement of the election results on Sunday morning, which lasted till evening the APC governor also won in additional 13 local government areas.

 Nigerian actress, Dayo Amusa has knocked keypad warriors who troll her for sharing different views, beliefs and opinions, IGBERETV reports.


In a post shared on her Instagram page, Dayo stated that the keypad warriors are not any better than the thugs on the street. 

In the post she titled: "If only you know how many people una don kill online! IF ONLY!", she wrote;

"It baffles me to see people, pages, handles, hidden keyboard bullies, know it all, trolls and others who have the time, energy and space to spend on tearing others down, bashing just because you share different views, beliefs and opinions. O sad gan ni!
It’s okay if you don’t agree with me or my views but it’s never okay for you to come to my space shit talking , bashing, causing/insulting me. No! that’s unacceptable.

It’s okay if someone says something you don’t agree with but it’s not okay to dump all your shit in there comment sections so you can be seen or heard.
