Omoyele Sowore Speaks On Chude's Arrest

After all the xenophobic attacks on Igbos in Lagos during last weekend charade called "elections" isn't it funny that the only person in @PoliceNG custody is a young guy, a social media influencer, @chude__ from Anambra accused of cybercrime? Not a single person in Lagos arrested…

What We Have In Nigeria Is Not Democracy But Agberocracy - Apostle Suleman

Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman said that Nigeria is not in any way practicing democracy but rather "Agberocracy'' which in his words mean ‘’government of the agency by the agbero, IGBERETV reports.

The clergyman said that the two elections recently conducted in Nigeria have proven that the Permanent Voters Card used to cast votes during elections is useless. The clergyman stated this while preaching in his church today March 19.

He slammed politicians for using thugs to snatch ballot boxes during the elections. He also kicked against the tribal sentiments expressed during the election, saying that no one pays tax based on their ethnicity and so the issue of ethnicity during elections should never arise.

He urged Nigerian youths not to be discouraged by the outcome of the elections. He said that what he knows for a fact is that what is built on a false foundation can never stand.

Adamawa: REC Allegedly Pressurizes Returning Officer To Manipulate Results

LEAKED AUDIO: INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Directs Returning Officer To Rig Election For Adamawa APC Gov. Candidate, Binani

*Returning officer insists on doing right thing

With collation of results currently underway in Adamawa State and results from Fufore Local Government Area being the only pending tabulation to conclude the process, it has been uncovered that INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Barrister Hudu Yunusa is mounting pressure on the returning officer for Fufore to tamper with the results.

An audio clip that was obtained reveals a conversation between Yunusa and pressuring the INEC returning officer for Fufore to do all within his means to deliver Aishatu Dahiru popularly known as Binani (the APC governorship candidate in Adamawa State).

"I have received phone calls from the highest authority for you to do everything possible to return Adamawa in favour of the woman (Binani)," Yunusa was heard telling the Returning Officer.

According to what was revealed in the audio clip, the Returning Officer, however, insists on announcing the results untampered because that was the right thing to do and also for his own safety.

"They're (agents of the opposition parties) are insisting that we should not go to Yola. That we must do everything here in Fufore. That was why I sent Zakari to come and meet you so that you will give us form so that we can do it here (in Fufore)...We are now in thr police station," the Returning Officer told the Adamawa REC.

Thank you, Sir.

Already, the incumbent and PDP candidate in the election, Ahmadu Fintiri is in the lead with results already released from other local government areas in the state.

Although the election is a neck to neck contest between Fintiri and his main challenger in the APC, Binani, the PDP is confident that based on the returns from their agents the PDP candidate is leading in the controversial Furore local government.

It is not immediately clear what is keeping the INEC from announcing the outstanding result from Furore.

The fear of many, however, is that the delay may be deliberate in order to buy time for manipulation of the results.

It will be recalled that there is an ongoing controversy on the INEC issuing contracts for the printing of sensitive election materials in the 2023 general election to a company owned by Senator Binani.

Dapo Abiodun Re-Elected; Wins Ogun Governorship Election 2023

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has been reelected for a second term of four years.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate was declared the winner by Prof Kayode Adebowale, the state returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the March 18, 2023 governorship election in Ogun State.

Abiodun polled 276,298 to defeat his closest rivals — Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 262,383 as well as Biyi Otegbeye of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) who got 94,754 votes and who has the backing of former governor and serving APC senator, Ibikunle Amosun.

That Abiodun Adedapo Oluseun of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned election,” Adebowale stated.

Governorship elections were held in 28 of Nigeria’s 36 states on Saturday. The governorship and state assembly elections were held a week later than initially scheduled after a court case forced INEC to move them forward.

Eight of the 36 states — Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Osun, and Ondo — have governorship elections “off-season” due to litigations and court judgements.

In alphabetical order, the 28 states where governorship elections were on March 18 are Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, Zamfara.

Of the 28 states, 11 serving governors including Abiodun sought reelection while 17 outgoing governors are in the final weeks of their constitutional two-term limits of eight years, having been sworn in on May 29, 2015.
