Kwankwaso Will Inherit Buhari’s 12 Million Votes & More – Abubakar Yesufu

The spokesperson for the New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP) presidential campaign committee, Abubakar Yesufu, has said his party’s candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, would get the 12 million votes President Muhammadu Buhari usually gets in North and other votes from across the country.

He said this while reacting to Kwankwaso’s appearance on Channels television.
Yesufu, who said this in a statement, said the fact that only the NNPP candidate attended the Channels Television debate for presidential candidates, showed that he is the right man for Nigerians.

Yesufu hailed Kwankwaso, describing him as a true Nigerian leader, who has shown character.

His words: “From the late Ahmadu Bello, Alhaji Tafawa Balewa, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, Alhaji Aminu Kano to President Muhammadu Buhari, none has exhibited vulgar wealth as those presently masquerading as leaders.

“Their shoes are too big for people like Atiku to wear. He stands no chance in the forthcoming general elections. I, therefore, call on Nigerians to reject Atiku and other candidates at the forthcoming polls.

“Atiku has nothing to offer. He is an opportunist and cannot be trusted with the collective will of the people.
“Atiku was afraid of being disgraced at the debate. That was why he failed to appear at the Channels interview.

“Kwankwaso is the true representative of the North. He is set to prove this fact on February 25. He is set to claim Muhammadu Buhari’s 12 million votes in the kitty.

”Bola Tinubu will be humiliated on that day. This is a kingmaker who left his apparel and decided to contest for the throne. As far as I am concerned, Tinubu is not in the race.
“The presidential throne is not for sale.”

Yesufu urged other candidates to throw in the towel or face humiliating defeat at the polls.
“The media is the last hope of the common man. They should live up to this expectation by ensuring the general election is the best ever in Nigeria’s history.”

PDP G5 Not Dead, Will Act On Feb 25 – Wike

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike says the G5 or Integrity Group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not running out of steam, adding that the group will act out its plan in the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

He spoke on Tuesday during the party’s governorship campaign in the Ahoada East Local Government Area of the state.

They said G5 is dead. What is their problem? Why are they concerned?” Wike queried as he addressed PDP supporters decked up in party paraphernalia.

The G5 is made up of five aggrieved governors of the PDP in southern Nigeria including Wike, Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu).

The five governor have been consistent in their demand that Iyorchia Ayu step down as PDP national chairman as a precondition for them to support the presidential ambition of the party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar.

Of late, the five governors known to embark on foreign trips together and solidarity campaigns in their states have not been seen together in public. The development fueled speculations that their alliance is of no effect any more.

However, Wike on Tuesday said the G5 will act on the D-day come next week.

“They don’t know there is a time to talk and there is a time to take action in politics. The action is on February 25. They can’t know our plans even if they push us. The more you look, the less you see
,” he said.

None of the vultures can withstand me and talk. Nobody can sell Rivers State for a pot of porridge.”

On the cancellation of the presidential rally of Atiku in Rivers, the governor said the PDP at the centre has never loved the state in the first place.

Wike said, “When they said they cancelled the rally, it is a lie; they don’t want to tell us that they can’t mobilise. In any case, PDP hasn’t told us that they love Rivers State.

“We had a problem here; heavy flood that occupied our houses. Did anybody whether the PDP (presidential) candidate or any leadership of the party, did they come to sympathise with us? But they went to Bayelsa, went to Delta. They showed us they don’t love us. No problem but our destiny is in our hands. Nobody can force us to anything.”

The former minister said the excuse of insecurity tendered by Atiku’s team for the cancellation of the rally is not tenable. Wike argued that the presidential candidates of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso both campaign in Rivers and they were not attacked.

“Peter Obi came, I gave him vehicles, he campaigned and left, nothing happened to him. Kwankwaso came here, I gave him vehicles, he campaigned and nothing happened to him. APC has applied and I have given them stadium; if them want vehicles from me, I will give them. But your party (PDP) said there is insecurity in Rivers,

Osun: Teachers Recruited By Oyetola But Sacked By Adeleke Stage Protest

Some teachers employed by the immediate administration of Adegboyega Oyetola in Osun State staged a peaceful protest on Monday in Osogbo, asking Governor Ademola Adeleke to reconsider his decision to disengage them.

It would be recalled that about 1,500 teachers recruited into the service between September and October 2022 by the last administration, but sacked through an Executive Order by Adeleke, had written to the governor asking him not to disengage them alongside other workers recruited by Oyetola’s government.

The protesters, who converged on the Olaiya area, carried placards with various inscriptions and also urged relevant stakeholders in the affairs of the state to intervene.

Speaking on behalf of the protesters, Olufemi Adedeji said their recruitment followed due process and pleaded with Adeleke to return them to their duty posts.

He said, “I am one of the 1,500 newly recruited teachers for both primary and secondary schools in Osun. I was given an appointment letter on September 30, 2022, and the process for this recruitment began in the year 2020.

“And immediately we were given appointment letters, and we all reported to our primary places of assignment.

“We have been dutiful, patriotic citizens of this state, and upon resumption, we were gladly received by teachers, students, and the leadership of the Parents and Teachers Association.

“We worked for about four months with no reward for our work until the new government, under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke, ordered a review of our appointment.

“Since then, we have made all efforts to call Mr Governor’s attention and plead for mercy. But we have not received any response from him.

“We are pleading with our Governor and all stakeholders and well-meaning citizens of the state to plead with him to reconsider us and give us a positive response. We are dying in silence.”

The spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, could not be reached for comment as calls to him rang out, while a reply to a text message sent to him on the issue was still expected.
