They Moved The Exchange Rate From N200 To N800 - Tinubu At Cross-river APC Rally

..to change...and the torture...they moved the exchange rate from N200 to N800. If they have repaired it, if they have arrested this, we won't be where we are today. We will have been greater.

They don't know the way, they don't know how to think, they don't know how to do....

Nnamdi Kanu Needs Urgent Surgery For Impaired Ear Drum – Barr. Ejiofor

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said that IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu needs urgent advanced medical treatment and surgical operation to address his deteriorating health condition, especially on his left ear, IGBERETV reports.

Ejiofor gave the update after he visited Kanu on Monday at the headquarters of the Department of State Services(DSS) where he is still being held in solitary confinement.

Taking to his Facebook page, Ejiofor expressed concerns over the lack of adequate medical facilities at DSS headquarters to treat Kanu’s ailments, particularly the severe pains in his left ear drum that has become greatly impaired following severe torture and beating he received in Kenya before being renditioned back to Nigeria in June, 2021.

Ejiofor wrote;

“UPDATE ON TODAY'S VISIT TO OUR INDEFATIGABLE CLIENT – ONYENDU MAZI NNAMDI KANU- AT THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE SERVICES (DSS), ABUJA, WHERE HE IS STILL BEING ILLEGALLY AND UNCONSTITUTIONALLY DETAINED IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT:

Today’s visit to our indefatigable Client – Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu- at the DSS detention facility, Abuja, where he is still being unconstitutionally held, was led by our erudite Lead Counsel - Professor Mike Ozekome, SAN,CON, OFR.

Our indefatigable Lead Counsel seized the opportunity offered by the visit to discuss the present health condition of Onyendu. Onyendu carefully narrated to him the non-provision of proper medical care to the barrage of life-threatening illnesses he is faced with.

Of very particular concern is the fact that the DSS have no adequate medical facilities to treat Onyendu's deteriorating health condition
Onyendu seriously lamented about severe pains particularly on his left ear. He also recounted that a previous scan at the instance of the SSS revealed that he must undergo an advanced surgical procedure to repair his left ear drum that has become greatly impaired by the severe torture and beating he received from agents of the Federal Government when he was forcibly kidnapped in Kenya and savagely renditioned back to Nigeria in June, 2021.

Generally, Onyendu needs urgent advanced medical treatment and surgical operation to address his deteriorating health condition, especially on his left ear. He narrated how the DSS doctor had emphatically told him that if after 45 days from November 18,2022,when he was examined, his case had not improved, then he must undergo immediate surgery to save whatever remains of his left ear. He lamented that several reminders and pleas that the DSS carried out their own medical doctor's instructions have met a brick wall. Being held in a solitary confinement, the DSS has also bluntly refused him access to his private doctor for independent medical assessment as ordered by the court.

Our legal Iroko, Ozekhome, painstakingly took comprehensive notes of Onyendu's entire medical concerns and has immediately swung into action with full legal initiatives to forestall any untoward eventualities.

The man of letters spent quality time in his briefing with Onyendu, as he updated Onyendu on the current status of our appeal before the Supreme Court which the Federal Government is deliberately forestalling.

In view of the length of time allotted to our erudite Lead Counsel for this all-important briefing, and considering the overall time limit for the visit which does not even permit a joint conference of two lawyers with Onyendu's, I could not personally meet with Onyendu today. I will therefore meet with him on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the suit which we had earlier filed to compel the Department of State Services and its Director General, to allow Onyendu access to his medical doctors and medical records comes up this week before the Federal High Court, Abuja.

As usual, Onyendu thanked you all, millions of his irrepressible followers and dogged supporters for standing shoulder- to- shoulder with him in this trying period. He is thankful, more importantly, for your unceasing prayers, even as he urged you all to continue to sustain the prevailing peaceful tempo as you have always done.

Thank you all, Ezigbo UmuChineke, and remain blessed now and forever more.

We move!

Signed:
Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq. (KSC)
IPOB's Lead Counsel

I Paid WAEC Fees For Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba Students In Lagos — Tinubu

PRESIDENTIAL candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the February 25 general elections, Ahmed Bola Tinubu campaigned in Awka, Anambra State on Tuesday and promised to make the state an industrial hub of the country if elected.

Addressing a mammoth crowd at the Alex Ekwueme Square, the venue of the rally, Tinubu, who was accompanied by his running mate, Kashim Shetima, the director general of his campaign organization, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma, Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduge and other top officials of the campaign council, also promised to tackle the gully erosion menace that is devastating most communities in Anambra State.

He said: “You know me and you know what I can do. I tamed the Atlantic ocean in Lagos and I can do a similar thing in Anambra. We will check the gully erosion devastating the state.

“I will turn Anambra to an industrial revolution state.
We will train our youths so that they can secure well-paying jobs and be useful to themselves.

“I started paying WAEC fees for every student in Lagos, whether you are Igbo or Yoruba or Hausa and I will be fair to all Nigerians if I become president.”

He promised to work with the Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, who he described as a very brilliant man, if he is elected president of Nigeria, recalling that he also discovered another Anambra son, Mr. Ben Akabueze who worked with him in Lagos and is presently the presidential adviser on budget.

He urged the Nigerian electorate not to listen to those he described as lying politicians.
He added: “How long will it take them to lie from Port Harcourt to Onitsha; Onitsha to Aba? “For 16 years, PDP lied to the nation that they will industrialize Nigeria, but they industrialized their pockets.

“One person said he is the candidate of the north and I urge voters not to listen to him. There will be hope, joy, prosperity and progress if you vote APC and I urge every eligible voter to collect their PVC and vote for Asiwaju.”

Makarfi: PDP Will Win At First Ballot, APC Has Nothing To Show

A former Chairman, of the National Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmed Makarfi has said that the PDP will win the 2023 election at first ballot because the All Progressives Congress (APC ) has nothing to show to the voters that would make them enthusiastic to vote for the party.

Speaking in an interview with journalists, the former Governor of Kaduna State said although the APC was using money and religious sentiment ahead of the election,it would take them nowhere because Nigerians were looking for an alternative which is the PDP.

Accprding to him, “politics is local, I have been at home leading the campaign here. If you notice hardly do you see me at national rallies. Because my personal opinion is that the work is at home. And the work at home is enormous. And one needs to be at home to do the needful, not to be deceived.”

“It is not about following candidates on the campaign. I have just told you that I have not been going on rallies with our candidate, but I am 100 per cent with our candidate. And I am at home working 100 per cent to make sure that Kaduna returns to PDP. If you have a responsibility to remain at home you remain at home. If you don’t have a responsibility to remain at home you can be anywhere. That is the way. I don’t want to talk about someone not being at the rally.”

“The issue is the voters, APC has nothing to show to the voters that will make voters enthusiastic to vote for them. But they want to make use of money, sentiments, and religious sentiment, And from experience, this sentiment will take them nowhere. I believe people want a state that is fair and equitable. And PDP is structured in a way and manner that is fair and equitable for development in Nigeria. So for me, it does not show up at the rally, but about the people who are looking for an alternative, and that alternative is PDP which the people are happy to associate with.”

“Each election always comes with its difficulties and peculiarities. In 2019, we didn’t have Labour Party. To me, it is a challenge to PDP in a certain part of the State. But again, the sentiment used in 2019 in some parts of the State is not the same sentiment used today. There are efforts to use the same sentiment by the ruling party. But, the rejection by the people is very obvious. So, there is dynamism in politics. Things are really changing.”

“For us in the PDP where we have concerns, we have been engaging with people and we are progressing pretty well. I am very confident that we will win the 2023 elections in the State, and Nigeria. Well, I can say that we don’t have resources, but the ones we spend is our personal resources.”

“The party in power use public resources. But, people are now wise. Up till 2015, the PDP was in power , with over 20 States under its control no matter the resources then, the opposition party took over the government. People made up their minds. And I believe, this time around the people have made up their minds because they are not satisfied with the APC government. So, no matter the amount of money they would spend, people are going to take their money and vote against them.”

“You can also see that our party today in Kaduna has absolute acceptability by the people everywhere. The issue now is, let the election be free and fair. Some people think that with the BVAS the election cannot be manipulated. It can. And, I believe those in authority know it can. So, let us safeguard the electoral materials and equipment to make sure that unpatriotic elements in our country don’t subvert democracy.”

“Let’s assume that G-5 governors is the problem at the moment which is open to the public. They don’t know the problem of APC because it is not known to the public. If we have a number of governors who feel dissatisfied, how many governors do we have on the other side that are dissatisfied and people don’t know? So politics is not about what you see, you should be more worried about what you don’t see. I am more comfortable and confident that PDP will win this election on the first ballot, God willing. I am confident we can do that.”

“PDP has been running a team campaign, and of course, until APC through its desperation went too personal. There may have been issues to do with the APC candidate in the media, and social media. But not propelled by PDP. But by other players in the society. Of all the recent happenings, you have to look at who started it. But then no matter who started it, campaigns should be issue based.

We should come back for the sake of the country and continue to campaign on issues that matter to the people. Not limited to only PDP and APC, but all the parties.”

“If you look at the parties and their structures, and issues, the PDP remains the issue-based Nigerian party because it is not based on any ethnic or religious drive. PDP is a rainbow of people and ideas. It is equity-based. Whether you like it or not, the whole principle of APC Muslim Muslim ticket was to divide Nigerians along that line, in their calculation, to religious sentiment since there are no tangible achievements they can point out.”

“So let them play out religious sentiment so that they can retain power. In reaction to that, it may not have started that way, it should have even started on the basis of some laudable objectives, but then what is happening, again religious sentiment crop up it. And that is the truth. So you see two political parties whose foundation is bearing for it; religion and ethnicity. And to divide Nigeria along that line will be the most dangerous decision Nigerians will ever make. The PDP is not in that category of a political party right from inception and till now.”

“So PDP is the only party that you can say is for everybody irrespective of your religious, ethnic and socioeconomic status, whatever. And it is a direction we should all go. And we should try as much as possible to avoid a run-off election because it could be far more of a deficit,” he said.
