How I’ll Handle Nat’l Assembly If Labour Party Is Not Controlling It – Obi

Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 election on Monday said Nigerians have nothing to worry about if his party is not the majority in the 10th National Assembly.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that speaking at the Chatham House, Obi, a former governor of Anambra State promised to “do the right things” if he is elected president in next month’s election.

“I have been through this as a governor. As long as you are pursuing what is right, everybody will go with you.

It becomes a problem when you are pursuing transactional policies, which will benefit you, or you are engaging in nepotism, but when you adhere to the constitution, which has already stipulated that the system will include diversity, you would carry everybody along, and there would not be a problem,” Obi said.

Reno Omokri: Elect Peter Obi President, Expect The ‘Mother Of ASUU Strikes’

Reno Omokri, a social media influencer has warned Nigerian students against voting for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi whom he described as “stingy.”

Omokri warned that Nigerian students should expect the mother of all strikes from the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, that would be frustrating if Obi is elected president.

In a series of tweets, Omokri recounted that doctors were on strike for 13 months when Obi was the Governor of Anambra State.

He wrote: “Nigeria’s 26 million registered student voters should note that a stingy man, like Peter Obi, will not pay ASUU well. If he is elected, expect strikes that will frustrate you.

“You need a man, like Waziri Atiku Abubakar, who has promised to pay workers a living wage.

“Students should note that under Peter Obi Anambra’s doctors were on strike for 13 months over low pay.

“Google it! If the 26 million registered voters who are students vote for Obi, expect the mother of all ASUU strikes.

Vote Atiku if you want to graduate in 4 years!”

Tinubu-SDP Alliance Is Real And Unstoppable — SDP

The Social Democratic Party has reiterated that the proposed alliance deal between the SDP and the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is real and unstoppable.

The SDP disclosed this through a statement on Monday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Alfa Muhammad, although, the factional SDP last week disowned an alliance deal between Tinubu and the party.

The party’s spokesperson noted however, that “the much trumpeted Tinubu-SDP proposed alliance deal is real and unstoppable. It is a plan ‘B’ option conceived since year 2020 by the authentic leaders of the SDP, to make sure that Nigerians never miss the treasure of having Asiwaju Tinubu as their next president.

“The agenda, which is known and popular amongst the elected (not appointed) national executive members of the SDP and stakeholders is not well known to the denying Jerry Gana boys, because they are strangers who joined the party just ‘yesterday’ along with Jerry Gana who has since returned to PDP but stayed behind to allegedly destabilise our party, and thus knows little or nothing about the party’s structures and agenda.”

The spokesperson therefore advised the public to ignore the faction, saying their fake claim to the party’s leadership would soon be put to an end by the Federal High Court.

He added, “We will address Nigerians on the subject fully shortly.”
