Atiku’s Camp Spreading Fake News About Buhari’s Non-Endorsement Of Tinubu - APC

The Director Media and Publicity, All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga has accused the camp of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of spreading fake news about the party's campaign in Yola, Adamawa state.

In a statement on Monday, Onanuga said the Atiku’s camp are telling lies that President Muhammadu Buhari failed to endorse Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate at the rally.

Sharing photos of the rally, Onanuga wrote "One Maiyegun's Diary Politico has been spreading the fake news that President Muhammadu Buhari did not endorse Asiwaju Tinubu in Yola. This comes after another lie spread by Atiku's party that President Buhari was keeping aloof from Tinubu's campaign. Now that Buhari is on the road for Tinubu, they have invented another lie".

" Here are photographs that trashed the latest lie. The first shows President Buhari raising Tinubu's hand and saying: You can trust Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban of Borgu, our party's flag-bearer and presidential candidate, together with his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima. Buhari also endorsed Aisha Binani, the governorship candidate, asking Adamawa voters to make history by electing Nigeria's first female governor"

"In the second photo, with the task of endorsement done, Buhari and the APC candidates come together to chant APC all the way!"

UBA Announces Availability Of New Naira Notes At Atms

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has announced that Nigerians can now get the new Naira notes at its Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) across the country.

In a message to its customers on Sunday, the financial institution stressed that the withdrawal limit via this channel is N100,000.

Recall that at the weekend, there were reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directed commercial banks in the country to stop giving the redesigned notes to customers via other-the-counter (OTC) but through ATMs.

The National Assembly and many Nigerians had urged the central bank to extend the date by three or six months to allow people with the old N200, N500 and N1,000, especially in the rural areas, to have enough time to exchange them with the redesigned currency notes.

We are happy to inform you that the newly redesigned naira notes are now available at all UBA ATMs nationwide.

Please note that the maximum daily cash withdrawal limit for these notes at our ATMs is N100,000
,” a part of the message from UBA obtained by this newspaper disclosed.

2023: Only God Can Stop Tinubu – Sule

As Nigeria approaches the 2023 presidential election, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has said only God can stop the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, from succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sule said Northern APC governors would use their resources and do anything to ensure that Tinubu emerges victorious.

He spoke in Kokona Local Government Area at the campaign rally of APC’s senatorial candidate for Nasarawa West, Architect Shehu Tukur.

He said, “APC Northern governors will use their resources to ensure that Tinubu emerges president of the country. If there is anybody that wants Tinubu to become president, it’s the Northern APC governors.

“Only God can stop Tinubu and A. A Sule from becoming president and governor respectively. We are determined to commit our resources and strength to conquer any form of opposition.”

Sule also dismissed claims that some APC governors were secretly working with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against Tinubu.
He described such claims as a falsehood that Nigerians should disregard.

“These are blatant lies. The APC Northern governors stood firm for Tinubu to emerge, they will do anything to make him president,” he said.

Bandits Kidnap Lt. Col. N.B. Ahmed, Commanding Officer

Lieutenant Colonel of the Nigerian Army, N.B. Ahmed has been abducted following an ambush on a military convoy by gunmen suspected to be terrorists.

SaharaReporters gathered that the senior military officer was abducted along Tsafe (Zamfara)/Funtua (Katsina) road on Friday, January 6.

The abducted officer is the new commanding officer of the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, Sokoto.

“Our new boss who resumed on Friday was attacked while being escorted to Kano. He was taken away by the gunmen,” a military source told SaharaReporters.

A military signal exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters also confirmed the incident.

The signal was however silent on others travelling with Ahmed.

It read, “TEXT: SP SITREP ON KIDNAPPED OF SNR OFFR. LT COL NB AHMED (N/12022). A/N SNR OFFR WAS KIDNAPED ALONG TSAFE/FUNTUA RD ON 06 JAN 23 AT ABOUT 2000HRS WHILE TRAVELING TO KANO FOR WEEKEND. This comes a few days after a female Lieutenant, P. P. Johnson was abducted by unknown gunmen in Imo State.

A trending video in December 2022 showed the female officer being tortured by gunmen after she was abducted while visiting her grandmother in Aku-Okigwe community.

“She was just conferred with the rank of Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army. She passed out on December 17 after being commissioned from the Direct Short Service Course,” a military source had said.

“She was kidnapped at her home in Ibube. She travelled home for the Yuletide celebration.”

In the clip obtained by SaharaReporters, one of the unknown gunmen was heard threatening to kill the officer for being a member of the Nigerian Army.

He also warned youths against joining the military and other security agencies.

The officer was stripped naked and her hands and legs were tied. She was seated on the ground in a bushy area.

Why are Arsenal wearing all-white kits vs Oxford United in the FA Cup?

The Gunners are donning an all-white kit in the FA Cup against Oxford, with the familiar red being temporarily abandoned

In modern football, the kits players wear on the pitch during matches have evolved into canvasses where meaning can be subtly imbued and messages can be broadcast to the world.

From the colours and the design to the sponsor, jerseys speak to us in one way or another, with a whole industry predicated on producing fresh looks each season, to be worn at home and away.

If you're tuning in to Arsenal's FA Cup match against Oxford United this Monday, you'll notice that the Gunners are wearing white shirts, white shorts and white socks. The north London side usually wear red and white, while their alternative kits this season are black or pink, so what is the reason for the change?

Why are Arsenal wearing all-white kits?

Arsenal are wearing all-white kits in their FA Cup third round match against Oxford United in support of the 'No More Red' anti-knife crime campaign. It is the second year that the Premier League club have supported the campaign, which was launched in 2022.

The red referred to is, of course, the blood of knife crime victims and the removal of red from the Arsenal kit is a symbolic act.

As well as Arsenal players, the 'No More Red' has a variety of high-profile supporters, including boxer Anthony Yarde, while 'The Wire' actor Idris Elbahas also been to the fore in raising awareness for the campaign.

The Arsenal women's team will also wear No More Red gear when they play Chelsea on January 15, with players donning white pre-match training kits and anthem jackets.
