‘Chelsea should go all out & snatch Chukwueze’ - Fans urge Premier League side to sign Nigeria winger

Fans believe Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze would be a huge success at Chelsea and make them a threat on the right wing given how good he has been for his club.

The Nigeria international was among the standout performers as the Yellow Submarine beat La Liga champions Real Madrid 2-1 on Saturday, drawing plenty of praise from fans.

Chukwueze made life difficult for Madrid defenders with his pace, incisiveness and tenacity, creating three big chances for his teammates while making two attempts at goal and was also an asset for his team defensively.

All He Could Do Was Boast That He Saved Money

"...You will have to be labouring under a terrible delusion if you think he will do better for the nation than he did for Anambra State.

* it is a heartless governor who holds back money when people went hungry, schools, road and clinics went into disrepair. Neither the city-dweller nor farmer prospered under him."
 -Tinubu said.

49 days to the 2023 election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flag-bearer, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Saturday lambasted the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party counterpart Peter Obi, calling the former ‘Mr. Privatize’ and the latter ‘Mr. Stingy’.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that addressing the Ondo state rally at Democracy Park, Akure, the state capital, the APC candidate urged the people of the state to live up to that billing by voting APC all the way in the upcoming election.

The rally was attended among others by Governors Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Babajide Sanwo-olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), former Osun State governor, Gboyega Oyetola, and APC National Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore who represented National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

“On February 25, I know you will be a champion of progressive politics again. That date represents for the nation and for each and every one of us an appointment with destiny.

“We not only must make that appointment, we must emerge from the appointment fully dedicated to creating a more prosperous, safer, tolerant and dynamic society. But these things do not come by accident. These things are but some of the fruits that only progressive and democratic good governance can harvest. “And that progressive governance can only be brought to you by someone who has governed in a progressive manner before,” Tinubu said.

Taking a swipe at Atiku, Tinubu said the PDP candidate could not do it.

“He doesn’t want to do the brave and hard work required to build a better nation. Instead, he would rather sell your birthright to the highest bidder and run off with the proceeds.

“He cares little that his policies and actions will impoverish you and leave you with nothing.”

On the Labour Party candidate, Tinubu said Obi had a chance to show how progressive he could be when he was governor of Anambra State.

“All he could do was boast that he saved money. But I tell you it is a wicked parent that holds money in his hand yet allows his children to starve.

“Likewise, it is a heartless governor who holds back money when people went hungry, schools, road and clinics went into disrepair. Neither the city-dweller nor farmer prospered under him.

“In the end, he refused to save the people because he preferred to save the money. And he claims to be the party of labour.

“You will have to be labouring under a terrible delusion if you think he will do better for the nation than he did for Anambra State.

It's Your Turn To Retire, Obi Replies Tinubu

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has said it is the turn of Nigerian youths and women to take back Nigeria.

He made the assertion during a recent visit to Akwa Ibom (his wife's home country) for his campaign.

Peter Obi while revealing his plans for Nigeria if elected president of Nigeria next month, said Nigerians should hold him accountable if he fails to change the country.

“Stop listening to all these parties telling you about structure. They brought Nigeria to where it is today.

“When we started this democracy, we had less than 50 million poor people in Nigeria, today it is 133 million people and growing every day.

“Nigeria can feed itself, let’s bring people who can focus on helping Nigeria. Let nobody tell you it is his turn, or tell you, you have to wait for next time.

“It is the turn of Nigerian youths and women to take back this country. Your children are suffering. We have children who have gone to school and cannot find jobs for years and someone (Tinubu) is saying it is his turn, which turns? It is your turn to retire."

God Hasn't Spoken On Nigeria’s Next President

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has hinted that God has not spoken to him yet on the winner of the next President of the country in the forthcoming 2023 polls.

The revered cleric made the claim on Saturday morning, January 7, during this month’s Holy Ghost Service tagged, “Wonderful” which was held at the Redemption City, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

Adeboye added that members of RCCG and Nigerians at large should ensure their Permanent Voter Cards are handy and ready to be used to exercise their civic rights come February 25 presidential poll whether God specifies the winner before then or not.

You may be saying the election is next month and He has not spoken until now. I advise that you get your PVCs ready.

If He doesn’t speak before the elections, then be ready to vote as your spirit leads. If He tells me, well, I may tell you or I may not,” he said.

Speaking to the congregation on other prophecies that might have been heard on the winner, Adeboye said it is important to listen to only the words of God and discard fake prophecies.

The RCCG leader further charged the congregation to ensure they live holy to hear when God speaks and to be ready to follow His directives so as not to be led astray by fake prophecies.

Arteta defiant about Arsenal touchline antics: I'd change if I was doing anything wrong

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has hit back at criticism of his behaviour on the touchline and insists he has done nothing wrong.

WHAT HAPPENED? Arteta struggled to control his emotions during Arsenal's goalless Premier League draw aganst Newcastle on Monday. The coach clashed with opposite number Eddie Howe and described referee Andrew Madley's failure to award his side a penalty as "scandalous." Arsenal have since been hit with an FA charge after several players confronted Madley after he decided not to award a spot-kick late in the game. Arteta has now spoken out about his behaviour and been asked whether he will try to change his ways.

WHAT THEY SAID: "That is me and I will try all the time to be better and whatever I do, if it is tomorrow, the next day, or the next one, is to make the club stronger and my players better, to play better, and to win," he told reporters. "But if I have to do something, I will do it, and if I have to change something, believe me I will look in the mirror myself and change it very quickly."

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Arteta has led Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table but the Gunners now face a crunch run of fixtures that will test the manager's temperament and his team's title credentials. The north Londoners face Tottenham, Man Utd, Everton and Brentford in the top flight before hosting defending champions Manchester City.
