 Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has endorsed a photoshopped image of his family, shared by a colleague of his, Sarah Martins, on Christmas Day, IGBERETV reports.

Yul's first wife, May, on Sunday posted a photo of herself and children to mark Christmas Day.

The photo had sparked reactions over the absence of the actor from the family portrait.

Martins posted an edited image of May's family portrait, which now included the actor, his second wife, Judy Austin, and their child, Star Dike.

Bandits Are Our People, Vote Leaders Who Won’t Fight Them - Sheikh Gumi

 

Controversial and popular Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Ahmad Gumi has called on Nigerians to vote for those who will not fight bandit terrorists if elected president in 2023.

Naija News reports that the Kaduna-based Islamic scholar made the call with the 2023 general election less than 90 days away.

Speaking during a sermon, Sheikh Gumi urged Nigerians to vote for leaders who would negotiate with bandits when elected into office.

While describing bandits as “our people,” Gumi said Nigeria’s next set of leaders should negotiate and give bandits what they want for peace to reign.

He said: “Don’t vote for those who will fight bandits. The fighters (bandits) are our people. So please vote for those who, after attaining power, will call and negotiate with our people (bandits) so as to give them what they want for peace to reign.”

Russia wants the war in Ukraine to end

 Russian President, Vladimir Putin has said that Russia wants an end to the war in Ukraine and that the war would only end by a diplomatic solution.

 

Putin made the comments on Thursday evening, December 22 a day after U.S. President Joe Biden hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in the White House and promised him continued and unwavering U.S. military support.

 

"Our goal is not to spin the flywheel of military conflict, but, on the contrary, to end this war," Putin said. "We will strive for an end to this, and the sooner the better, of course."

Russia has persistently said it is open to negotiations, but Ukraine and its allies suspect a ploy by Russia to buy time after a series of Russian defeats and retreats that have swung the momentum of the 10-month war in favour of Kyiv.

"I have said many times: the intensification of hostilities leads to unjustified losses," Putin told reporters.
